Demands for better resolution and more information from seismic data continue to increase. At the same time one of the critical first steps, refraction statics interpretation, is often ignored due to time constraints or only given a cursory, one-pass effort. Modeling and removing shallow effects from seismic corrects reflection data for all subsequent processing and interpretation efforts.
A second issue facing seismic processors is the demand for quicker turn-around time. Traditional solutions for refraction statics are, however, time intensive.
